The Pre-K lottery has passed. To join the Pre-K waitlist for the 2026-2027 school year, complete the linked Googleform. Families should NOT complete the Genesis registration process online unless they are offered a place off the waitlist.

Pre-K Lottery Registration 2026-2027
- Registration for the Pre-K Lottery for the 2026-2027 school year opened on January 12 and closed at the conclusion of the school day on February 27th . Families were informed of the lottery results via email on March 6th. There is currently a waitlist for the 2026-2027 Pre-K program. To join the waitlist, families should complete the linked form. If a space opens up for your child, you will be informed and asked to complete registration. DO NOT complete the registration process until you are informed that your child has a place in the Pre-K program. The Pre-k program is limited and determined by a lottery system each winter. The lottery system is open to students who will turn 3 or 4 on or before October 1st. Due to limited capacity Pre-K students are not guaranteed placement in their homeschool. Please note: an entering 3 year old student will need to complete 2 years in the PreK program and will not be admitted into Kindergarten until the year in which they are 5 on or before October 1st (as per Board of Education Policy 5112). K-12 Registation for the 2026-2027 School Year is now open. Registration appointments will be held during the month of April and will continue through the summer. Click the link here to complete the registration, be sure to select the 2026-2027 school year as the year of registration.
- Full day kindergarten is free and available to all residents who will turn 5 on or before October 1st (exceptions to the entrance age will not be made as per Board of Education Policy 5112).
- First graders must turn 6 on or before October 1st (exceptions to the entrance age will not be made as per Board of Education Policy 5112).
Students are placed in elementary schools based on program and seat availability.
The Roselle Park School District consists of 5 schools, including three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.
A free and appropriate education is available to all ROSELLE PARK residents aged 5-20 and to certain students under 5 and over 20 as determined by the law.
IMPORTANT: Kindergarten School Assignment Notice
While students are generally assigned to the elementary school located within their neighborhood attendance area, all school assignments are subject to established class size limits and district capacity.
If a particular building reaches its maximum class size or enrollment threshold, students may be assigned to another elementary school within the district to ensure balanced class sizes and maintain instructional quality.
All district elementary schools follow the same curriculum, academic standards, and student support structures.
By completing registration, families acknowledge that school placement is subject to district capacity and assignment policies.
Registration Steps
For families of students eligible for registration, complete the following:
1. Complete the registration information via the appropriate portal linked at the top of this page. Before clicking the appropriate link, ensure the following linked legible documents are in your possession and available to upload (you will be able to save your work and return later).
2. Make a registration appointment. After completing the registration information via the portal, you will be prompted to make an appointment. The following conditions must be met during the in person appointment:
- Must be attended by the parent or legal guardian of the student being registered. (Photo ID Required).
- If you have special circumstances surrounding residence, please contact registration@rpsd.org before registering.
- ALL required documents must be uploaded to the portal. If required documents are not uploaded 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
