Registration for the Roselle Park Public Schools

The Roselle Park School District is a public school system serving students in grades pre-k through 12.
 
  • Pre-k program is limited and determined by a lottery system each winter.  The lottery system is open to students who will turn 3 or 4 on or before October 1st.

  • Full day kindergarten is free and available to all residents who will turn 5 on or before October 1st.

  • First graders must turn 6 on or before October 1st.

Students are placed in elementary schools based on program and seat availability.

The Roselle Park School District consists of 5 schools, including three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.
 

A free and appropriate education is available to all ROSELLE PARK residents aged 5-20 and to certain students under 5 and over 20 as determined by the law.  
 
 

Registration for the 2023-2024 School Year

Pre-K LOTTERY registration is CLOSED for the 2024-2025 school year. (if your child has an IEP, contact the Office of Special Services by calling 908-241-3944 ext. 1022). The drawing has been delayed. Selected students will be contacted by the end of March.
 
All other registrants who turned at least 5 on October 1, 2023 and have established residency in Roselle Park, NJ* may begin the registration process for the 2023-2024 school year by following the steps below:
 
1. Complete the registration information via the appropriate portal linked below. Before clicking the appropriate link, ensure the following legible documents are in your possession and available to upload (you will not be able to save your work and return later):
      1. Birth certificate of registering student
      2. Parent/Guardian proof of identify (this may include a passport, state ID, license, or other government issued ID).
      3. If home is owned: deed or most recent mortgage statement or current tax bill; if home is rented: current lease or applicable affidavit.
 
 2. Make a registration appointment.  After completing the registration information via the portal, you will be prompted to make an appointment.  Appointments must be conducted in person and are available Monday-Thursday from 1:30-4:30pm. The following conditions must be met during the in person appointment:
      1. Must be attended by the parent or legal guardian of the student being registered. (Photo ID Required)
      2. Must have all completed forms and required materials BEFORE attending (see What to Bring to your Appointment below)
      3. If you have special circumstances surrounding residence, please contact [email protected] before registering.
      4. If parents are separated/divorced, and there is a custody agreement, must provide the court order specifying legal custody.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
Proof of age:
  • Birth Certificate (MUST HAVE Original with the raised seal)
Proof of Residency:
  • Current Deed, Mortgage Statement, or Tax Bill of Resident (if owner - MUST BRING Original) OR
  • Current Lease of Resident (if renter - MUST BRING Original) (if lease is expired or children are not listed on Lease, you must provide the Landlord Verification Form) OR
  • This Notarized Verification Form from Landlord  (If lease doesn't list names of all residents or if you lease is expired) OR
  • Notarized Affidavit for Living with a Resident (if parent doesn’t own or rent residence) - Form provided upon necessity. Please note in addition to the affidavit, you must provide all the residency paperwork above for the family you are living with.
Additional Residency Proof:
  • Resident’s Auto, Home, or Renters Insurance document (with current address)
  • Two current utility Bills of Resident (water, gas, electric, with current address)
  • Other bills from parent (cable, internet, etc) with current address, if available
Proof of Identity (may require additional information if person registering student is the legal guardian or parents are divorced):
  • Parent/Guardian proof of identify (this may include a passport, state ID, license, or other government issued ID).
Medical Paperwork:
If transferring from another school:
  • Transfer Card (from the school the student is leaving)
  • Report Card/transcripts (from student's former school)
  • IEP (if applicable)
  • 504 plan (if applicable)
*there are some exceptions which include but are not limited to including: living with a resident (complete affidavit for living with a resident), homelessness (contact [email protected] for applicable McKinney Vento paperwork).
