Before/Aftercare

(posted 4/27/21)

It’s Time to Register!! The Work-Family Connection has opened registration for2021-2022 for all before and after school programs at Sherman School, Robert Gordon School, RPMS, and EJF - Aldene School.
Our before-school programs open at 7 AM, and our after-school programs start at school dismissal and close at 6:00 PM.

The Work-Family Connection’s goal is to provide a structured yet relaxed atmosphere and promote and teach essential life skills such as decision making, conflict resolution, negotiation, socialization, problem-solving, and good self-esteem.

One of the main focus areas of the program will be to support the academic curriculum of the school day. In addition to the academic focus, the After-School Program strives to be different from the school day. Many additional activities complement the school day and bring in a variety of subjects, interests, and resources.

The Work-Family Connection adheres to all applicable COVID mandates, including group sizes, health screenings of students and staff, cleaning and disinfecting protocols, personal space and mask requirements, a NO visitor policy, and any school district requirements. As always, our staff undergo fingerprinting, criminal background checks, physical exams, TB testing, and reference checks. Adult staff hold a current certification in CPR and First Aid. Many of the staff at The Work-Family Connection are either certified teachers or college graduates with degrees in education or a related field. We are proud to say that. The Work-Family Connection has been providing high-quality enrichment programs for children for 32 years!

Our situation at the ASYC is not unlike that of other student-centered programs regarding reopening in the midst of the pandemic. Due to these unprecedented circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to provide a completely virtual experience for the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

During this time, ASYC staff will be available for remote tutoring and homework help for all grades K-8 from 3pm-6pm daily. Certified teachers, National Honors Society students, and others will be providing these services to any K-8 Roselle Park resident wishing to engage in this opportunity via a virtual platform. Live virtual meetings will be open to join and will be based on grade level and availability.

Once your registration is complete, please check your email for the virtual meetings schedule, Google Classroom information, and more! As our situation is fluid, we will revisit how we conduct our services and are working out plans for a hybrid environment for 2021. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at jranieri@rosellepark.net
